Companies waste months and budget building AI agents that solve the wrong problem, in the wrong technology, for the wrong users. Copilot Use Case Discovery is a one-day decision workshop with key business and IT stakeholders. We map processes, identify automation candidates, and assign each to the right technology: Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, or Azure AI Foundry. The outcome is a use case matrix and a recommendation on what to build first.
Is this for you?
- Leadership wants to "deploy AI" but nobody can point to a specific process to automate
- IT picked a technology, but business does not know what to build
- Multiple departments submit AI ideas in parallel — no priorities, no decision on what comes first
- A pilot agent built without analysis sits unused
- You do not know when M365 Copilot is enough and when you need Copilot Studio or AI Foundry
- You bought licences but have no plan — budget is on hold
What you get
- Use case matrix — 10–20 candidates scored by business value and implementation difficulty
- Technology recommendation for each use case (M365 Copilot / Copilot Studio / AI Foundry)
- Shortlist of 3–5 priorities recommended for immediate execution
- Effort and timeline estimates for the top 3 use cases
- Executive presentation — ready to present the same week
How it works
- Pre-workshop (1–2 days before) — preparatory survey, agenda, logistics
- Block 1: Process mapping (3h) — identify automation candidates across all departments
- Block 2: Scoring and prioritisation (2h) — evaluate use cases on a value/effort matrix
- Block 3: Technology assignment and decision (2h) — M365 Copilot vs Copilot Studio vs AI Foundry + top 3 selection
- Report and presentation (3–5 business days) — results documentation + executive presentation
Timeline and cost
- Workshop: 1 day (approx. 7h with breaks)
- Final report: 3–5 business days after workshop
- Cost: [TO BE CONFIRMED]
What is not included
- Building AI agents (see: Jumpstart or Build & Run)
- Copilot Studio environment configuration (see: Environment Setup)
- Team training on AI tools (see: Hands-On Workshop)
- Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Copilot Studio licences
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from AI training? Discovery is a decision session, not a training course. We do not teach tools — we help you choose what and how to build. The outcome is a decision matrix, not a certificate.
Who should attend? Business representatives (process owners) and IT. Minimum 4–6 people from different departments. More perspectives produce a better matrix.
Does the executive team need to attend? Not required, but helpful. They receive a ready-to-approve presentation within a week of the workshop.
What happens after the workshop? Most commonly a Jumpstart (build the first agent) or an Assessment (deeper readiness analysis). Discovery leads naturally to both.
Hard numbers
- Workshop duration: 1 day
- Use cases identified: 10–20 per organisation
- Recommended priorities: 3–5 ready for execution
- Cost savings from choosing the right technology: 30–60% of project budget
- Decision process shortened by: 4–8 weeks
